2023 —The Universe Under Construction Site of Art Museum

As the exterior of the art museum- CMP INSPIRATION gradually takes shape and before interior decoration begins, the CMP PUJEN Foundation of Arts and Culture invites children to embark on a two-day adventure. By linking the museum’s distinctive architecture with the process of its creation, this experience offers young explorers the chance to unravel the mysteries behind the museum’s design.

The gray cement floor and walls, under the enchanting guidance of the theater troupe, magically transform into a “mysterious universe.” Children become cosmic explorers, moving through this unknown space with their bodies and using construction site materials to craft their own imaginative visions of the cosmos.

On the second day, these creative dreams take center stage as the “Cosmic Crew” is formed. With the theater troupe’s directions, kids dive into artistic creation, rhythmic beats made with construction tools, and teamwork, all while discovering the space around them and forging new connections with themselves and their fellow explorers.

And here’s the kicker: the artwork these young astronauts create won’t just disappear into the void. It will be forever enshrined in the museum, linking the local community’s children with the museum in a lasting bond—and serving as a truly unique memory in their journey of growth.

Progress!

Before the grand opening, the art museum CMP INSPIRATION invited artist Chien-Yi Wu and second-grade students from Chung-Cheng Elementary School in Taichung’s West District to create art on-site at the museum. Inspired by the insects and plants found along the Calligraphy Greenway, the children used their imagination and collage techniques to bring to life the biological scenes they observed during their daily commutes to and from school.

What appeared to be simple materials transformed into a rich visual experience through the collaboration between the artist and the children. The museum’s walls transformed into a playful, imaginative forest, filling the space with boundless energy and creativity!

The collaborative artwork created by the children and the artist was specially open for viewing during the Parklane Christmas event. The museum warmly welcomed the students’ parents, local residents, and other visitors to join in experiencing this large-scale collaborative artwork, a creation that is shared by both the museum and the CMP Parklane area. Through this process, it is hoped that the children will form a lasting, unique memory of the Calligraphy Greenway, while also further strengthening the deep ties between the CMP INSPIRATION and the local community.
